  • December 2024: ‘Shear Success’ educational leaflet for farmers and sheep shearers re Wool Quality & Presentation, produced in association with Teagasc, posted by Department Agriculture, Food and Marine with annual sheep census to almost 50,000 registered sheep farmers in Ireland
  • November 2024: Wonders of Wool, LSAD as part of Design Week, IGWC speakers and display of Irish grown wool products
  • November 2024: Participation Dept Environment, Climate & Communications Textiles Advisory Committee
  • October 2024: IGWC participation in wool panel talks and product display at wool marquee in Dingle Food Festival
  • September 2024: IGWC display of Irish grown wool products and sheep shearing displays over three days ‘National Ploughing Championships’
  • September 2024: IGWC participation in European Wool Association wool knowledge transfer tours in Faroe Islands

  • June: 2024: IGWC participation at KEPAK SHEARFEST 2024 All Ireland & All Nations Sheep Shearing & Woolhandling Championships

  • May 2024: Infrastructure Summit, submitted panel participant, JJ O’Hara from Future Cast to discuss wool in infrastructure
  • May 2024: Connected Threads- Sustainable Garment & Textiles Manufacturing Event hosted FORGE Design Factory
  • May 2024: IGWC attendance at Global Economic Summit, Killarney
  • May 2024: Membership Design & Crafts Council, Secured Networks Support Scheme funding €1,500
  • May 2024: Directory of Wool Merchants & Exporters on the island of Ireland added to IGWC website
  • April 2024: Associate Membership of European Wool Association and participated in its first 2024 quarterly round table discussion
  • April 2024: Development of IGWC Business Plan
  • March 2024: Participated in All-Island Bioeconomy Summit and BioDirect All-Island Industry Roundtables on Construction & Packaging
  • March 2024: Launched international campaign to promote Irish grown wool in conjunction with ministerial visits for St.Patrick’s Day trade missions

  • February 2024 1st IGWC AGM, establishment of Management Committee
